Governance
The Doctor of Education Degree (Ed.D.) is governed by the University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors (hereafter referred to as the UL Board). The doctoral degree program was approved as a Consortium program by the UL Board. The Consortium program has oversight from the Consortium Council which is comprised of the following positions from each university: Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the Graduate School, Dean of the College of Education, Chair of the department in which the doctoral program is housed, and the Coordinator of the program.
Doctoral Student Handbook
The information on this site with the exception of the Class Schedules is contained in the Doctoral Student Handbook. The Doctoral Student Handbook is a flexible document which provides current information to students and is subject to change as deemed appropriate by the Doctoral Consortium Council. The Handbook may be viewed by clicking on the Consortium Doctoral Handbook. Additionally, each university has unique dissertation requirements that may be an exception to the Consortium Doctoral Handbook and may also have Graduate School writing requirements that must be adhered to in lieu of the stated requirements in the generic Consortium Doctoral Handbook.
As evidence of this uniqueness are the Southeastern requirements for the Dissertation Prospectus (also known as the Qualifying Paper). The Southeastern version of Section 3 of the Consortium Doctoral Handbook may be viewed by clicking on Dissertation Prospectus (Southeastern).
